Life

~Hello Blog Readers~

I know that it has been a long time since I last wrote about our life happenings and for that I apologize. I find it fun to look at other people's blogs and read what all has been happening in their life and since I haven't written in quite some time, I will do it now while I have a few moments.

My husband and I have been busy working though we did get a Christmas break, which was a blessing! And since we really enjoyed spending our Christmas Holiday with family, we must admit that we were rather reluctant to return to work on the 27th! We both really enjoy our job working at a survival/outdoor institute, teaching kids and adults the importance of being prepared as well as the importance of knowing the skills and techniques necessary to survive in this great state we call home!

As a local Firefighter and Medic, my husband has been busy pulling long shifts. This time of year with the colder temperatures, slick roads and the people all out on the towns partying, it is important that there are responsible people staffed at the stations who are trained to help in the case of an emergency.

The weather has been strange this year, last month we got quite a bit of snow but this past month, we have had several warm spells where everything would melt and turn into slush and then the temp would drop again and it would all freeze over! It made such a mess!! So needless to say, even though, it is below zero, we are glad that it is not raining! We have been blessed with more snow as time goes by and the moose have been out foraging alongside the roads or in the neighborhoods as a result of the deep snow in the woods.

My days have been busy with running errands, baking, (hope to do more next year), trying to keep a clean house in spite of the busyness, working at the survival institute, and hanging out with hubby at the Fire Station.

As the New Year quickly approaches, let us remember to keep Christ as the center of everything that we do, say and think. And let us always be ready to give an answer to every man that asketh us of the Hope that lieth within us!!

And, I apologize but I can't seem to get some of the pics to center on the page so please just bear with me! Many thanks!!

Life is like a mountain railroad, with an Engineer that's brave; we must make the run successful, from the cradle to the grave, watch the curves, the fills, the tunnels, never falter, never fail. Keep your hand upon the throttle and your eye upon the rail.

Blessed Savior, Thou wilt guide us till we reach that blissful shore; where the angels wait to join us in Thy praise forevermore.

You will often find obstructions, look for storms of wind and rain; on a fill, or curve, or trestle, they will almost ditch your train; put your trust alone in Jesus, never falter, never fail.

Blessed Savior, Thou wilt guide us till we reach that blissful shore; where the angels wait to join us in Thy praise forevermore.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, complete with all the trimmings... and as you can see by the pictures below, we had quite the feast! Growing up in a large family, I normally cooked big dishes of things. But since being married, one small casserole dish lasts the 2 of us quite some time! We still have Thanksgiving leftovers in the frig! As my husband and I sat down at the table, we laughed with joy as we thanked the Lord for His bountiful blessings! He has been so good to us, words cannot express how He has poured out His abundant mercy upon us.
