Fruit Pizza

After thinking that Fruit Pizza sounded pretty good, I decided to go grocery shopping and pretty soon came home with fresh fruits... strawberries, kiwi, peaches and bananas! YUM!!! I made the fruit pizza the other day... here is the picture of  the finished product and the recipe.

Fruit Pizza Recipe:

1 pkg. Pillsbury sugar cookie dough*
Press or roll out dough in a 9x13 pan.
Bake 8 min. at 350*
Let cool a few mins. (Not hot to touch)

Spread 8 oz. of softened* cream cheese over crust.
Top with variety of fruit:
Strawberries, kiwi, pear, nectarine, grapes, berries, mandarin oranges...

In a saucepan mix:
1 cup orange juice
1/2 cup sugar
2 T. Corn starch.
Cook and stir till thickened.
Pour over fruit and chill.
~Delicious and Pretty!!

The sauce will be warm when you pour it over the pizza, so don't cover the pizza with saran wrap until it is completely cooled or you will end up with condensation, thus causing the sauce to be runny etc.

*NOTE: I found that the cream cheese needs to be really soft. I even put it in the microwave to melt it a little bit.
Also, make sure that the dough is cooked and cooled BEFORE you spread the cream cheese or the cookie dough will crumble as you try to spread the cream cheese.
